In early March, the meadows around the small Black Forest town of Zavelstein, a district of Bad Teinach, turn into a sea of purple flowers. Thousands of wild crocuses cover the meadows around the historic old town and attract many visitors to the Northern Black Forest every year in March.\n\nI visited on a sunny spring day and combined the crocus bloom with a short walk through Zavelstein \u2013 including the castle ruins, half-timbered houses, and a cozy coffee break. If you like, you can easily combine this excursion with a wellness weekend in the Teinach Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
